The UNWRAPPED TOUR is a project inspired by the “DARE TO LIVE” brand which used to be under the G.O.D UNLIMITED PROGRAM, an NPO which was started in 2011 by actor, singer, songwriter and playwright Siphosethu Sihlangu. “DARE TO LIVE” known as (D2L) has now been turned into a lifestyle company that seeks to create an environment where entertainment meets empowerment.
The UNWRAPPED TOUR seeks to unpack, explore and possibly interrogate what abundant life as outlined in the scriptures JOHN 10:10 really means. This will be done through interactive activities, as well as sharing Siphosethu’s own personal life story and the lessons he has learnt from the different opportunities, places, experiences and people he has had the grace of crossing paths with. During this tour, Siphosethu will also share music from his debut urban gospel CD titled “Mbilu” – the heart of the writer.
Abundant life according to the revelation Siphosethu received from the Lord, which has become his personal conviction, is simply living a purpose driven life. When asked what does that mean, Siphosethu says, “Finding your why (the reason for your being) and learning to use your what (skill set/ talents/ resources etc) to ultimately fulfil God’s purpose and to touch, impact and transform lives beyond your own.”
The UNWRAPPED TOUR is all about presenting other young people with doors of exposure, inspiration, information, hope and the love of the almighty God. Siphosethu says, “I seek to share my story, my struggles, my victories and my lessons not because I’ve made it in life, or I’m any better, but because I know what the power hidden in spoken words and in storytelling can do to change the life of one who has lost all hope.”
Through this tour, Siphosethu also hopes to invite and grant a platform to other young speakers, singers and poets who over the years have walked with him or even from a distance have led lives that he has been impacted by.
The tour will be going to schools, churches, youth and teenage centres, hopefully prisons and even in corporate spaces.
Tour Scripture: Ecclesiastes 9:11 King James Bible
“I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happened to them all.”
