I know, I know! It’s been months since I last posted anything on my blog. (I’m not even entirely sure I can call myself a blogger.) But here I am sitting in the Starbucks in Rosebank, listening to the hub-bub of the trendy Joburgers all zoned in on their laptops with a side order of a Venti Latte with coconut milk or Grande Caramel Macchiato with extra whip. (I had to google that, I have no idea what half these things on the menu are!)
While this is all exciting and I’ve run away from working at home to try find inspiration elsewhere, that still doesn’t mean my blog is going to magically be award winning. I have to dust off my keyboard and get typing. I can reveal that as much as you may think I’ve been relaxing sipping pina coladas with my feet up all these months, I’ve been productively busy with other projects that will all be revealed soon.
So like with anything in life, when you fall, you simply dust yourself off and try again. (I just sang that like the late Aaliyah, did you?) My aim for the relaunch of my blog is put less pressure on myself. To write out of the want to rather than the need to put something up every week. I want to try write as freely as I can giving you my true perspective as articulated as best I can. I want to continue to explore theatre and film reviews, make up and skin care, my favourite places to eat and travel, as well as give you some entertainment news of the latest shows to see in South Africa. I want my blog to be an exploration of my creativity and spontaneity, so expect random posts or semi-diary entries. I want my blog to create a community of people who share their own thoughts and knowledge. I don’t claim to know everything I write about, I’m simply sharing my view. And in the world so closely connected through the internet, it’s nice to see things from a new perspective. So don’t be shy to comment on posts and let me know your thoughts.
So here’s to second changes and retries. To persisting through and pushing forward. To next levels and bigger dreams. Here’s to waydenelaing.com
